17 HMR (Hornady Magnum Rimfire), also just called "17 Hummer" is one of the best modern varminting calibers available. Working in the same actions as the venerable 22 WMR (Magnum), considering it comes from necking down the old 22 Magnum to a 17 caliber, it is one of the flattest shooting small calibers out there. Best out of longer barrels, it is also one of the most popular rimfires calibers outside of 22 LR and Magnum.
