Shipping & Returns

When you buy ammunition online from MontanaAR15, you can expect world-class service. The same goes for all our firearm parts, kits, and gear. 

General Shipping Info:

  • We work hard to get all orders processed and shipped in a timely manner. 
  • We will provide the UPS/USPS tracking number by e-mail once the order has been processed, shipping label has been created, and taken out to our shippers to be packaged up for shipping. 
  • Once the package had been picked up and scanned in by UPS, you will be able to accurately track its progress. 
  • *PLEASE NOTE: It may take the shipping carrier 24-48 HOURS to update its records with your tracking information.  
  • Ammunition will ONLY be shipped via UPS ground, no air or expedited delivery options available.
  • We do not do "back orders."  We try very hard to keep the online inventory up to date and true of what we actually have in stock.  If any items you have ordered are not in stock, we will notify you ASAP to remedy the problem.
  • Our shipping rates are calculated directly from UPS.  Our shipping charges do not have any additional handling fees.  We pay what you're seeing (we're well aware our rates aren't always the best and our much larger competitors will have better shipping rates, they pay less per-package with their much higher volume as well as having multiple locations to ship from, we only have this one small warehouse we ship from).
  • All items purchased from MontanaAR15.com are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier.

*For any packages shipped via Standard Shipping, the carrier will scan packages into their system during their normal business hours (Monday-Friday).  All shipment information is captured each time a tracking label is scanned by the designated carrier system. 


    1. Simply put the item(s) in your online SHOPPING CART.  Usually, when adding an item(s) to your online shopping cart the site will then take you to the shopping cart page automatically.  You can also click at the very top of the website on the blue VIEW CART text to get to this page.
    2. When you are viewing your shopping cart, click the "Estimate Shipping & Tax" text found just below your item(s) Subtotal.
    3. Then pick your correct state from the pull down menu followed by typing your correct zip code.
    4. Next click the "Estimate Shipping & Tax" button.
    5. You may see two options for shipping depending on the product:  "UPS Standard (Ground)" as well as "USPS (Priority Mail)".
    6. NOTE:  If you are unable to have an item in your state  or items can not be shipped together the website will not give you a shipping quote it will state "There are items in your cart that cannot be shipped together and/or are restricted in your location. Please review cart and/or select a new delivery address. Also, make sure zip code and state match when selection shipping option."

Additional Shipping Info:

Please see our "Before you Order" for our product's restrictions.  We comply with all restrictions imposed by the Federal, State, Local Governments and/or Carrier Companies. We do our upmost to keep abreast of your State/Local Laws.  Please check your State, County, and Local laws for restrictions. We are not allowed to sell or ship restricted items to anyone in a restricted zone.  If you know your State and/or Local Laws prohibits certain items even though it is not listed on this site, please DO NOT place an order for the prohibited item.  The purchaser is responsible for knowing his or her own local state laws for the purchase.  It is your (or end user) responsibility to comply to all Federal, State and/or Local Laws


No international orders.  It is unlawful to export without a proper export license from the U.S. Department of State or an import license from the country of destination.

As a small company that DOES NOT DO ANY international sales or shipping, we do not know what the process is for shipping what we sell outside the U.S., so please do not ask.

- Most/everything we sell is ITAR restricted.



MontanaAR15 CANNOT accept returns on ammunition, firearms, or lower receivers due to safety considerations as well as US DOT regulations.

It is your responsibility as a customer to figure out EXACTLY what cartridge your firearm uses. It is also your responsibility to ensure that the firearm in which you'll use these cartridges is suitable and safe.

Returns on what is returnable will NOT be accepted without prior authorization.

To request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for non-restricted items:

  1. Log in to your account
  2. View "Completed Orders"
  3. Select the item(s) you wish to return & submit the request
  4. Once we have received and approved the return request, you will then be issued via email an RMA number and further instructions to proceed with the return.



  • Refund requests for firearms or ammunition will be rejected (we can't take returns on those).
  • Initial Shipping costs will NOT be refunded for returns without fault from MontanaAR15.com (ie you changed your mind after it was shipped out or received, or you ordered the wrong product etc.)
  • Items must be in as-new condition and be accompanied by original receipt.
  • Returned items must be properly packaged, refund will not be issued for damaged items due to poor packaging. 
  • Order can not be voided or cancelled once the order has been shipped (once it is in the shipper's hands, that shipping cost is spent and there might be return or intercept shipping cost as well as possible damage/wear from being in transit).
  • We reserve the right to apply a 20% restocking fee at our discretion.
  • Denial Fee for Firearm purchases:  IF YOU ARE DENIED FOR A BACKGROUND CHECK for whatever reason through your local transferring FFL (ex. underage, must be OVER 21 per federal law for an "other/receiver," lower to include rifle-stock-installed lowers which are still only "other/receiver," not complete firearm/long gun, this is grounds for a denial upon transfer) you WILL BE charged a 20% re-stocking fee plus paperwork handling fee of $50 plus the cost of shipping to and from, all removed from the pending refund.  In other words:  KNOW beforehand that you might or will be denied from the background check.


DAMAGE/SHORTAGE (Lost) in Transit (UPS or USPS):

  • Any damage or shortage must be reported to MontanaAR15 within 7 days of receipt.
  • In the rare event your package is damaged, we will file a claim with the carrier and issue a refund or replacement once the claim investigation has concluded.
  • If your order for AMMO or FIREARMS is damaged or lost in transit from us to you then it MIGHT be possible to return the damaged products that were otherwise non-returnable.  This might sound like common sense but people have let us know that they thought that since it was ammo (or scariest, a firearm) and damaged and unsafe/unusable (or entirely lost by UPS), that it was then still not returnable.  This is not the case.  If a non-returnable product was damaged by the shipper (UPS, USPS) then we will still take care of the problem.  You're not stuck with damaged product that is damaged or lost in transit to you.
